Over the last six years, pupils at The King’s School have taken part in a walk every September in aid of Equip and the work in Kigali, Rwanda. These events have raised almost £20,000. Having taken a short break from the idea, the annual Sponsored Walk is set to return after pupils made the point that this was their biggest fundraising success.
Every year about 15 pupils travel to the project in Kigali to see the work supported by their school for themselves. They report it as a life changing experience and all of them want to do whatever they can to raise funds to ensure the projects continue.
So, September will again see pupils with Equip T-shirts take to the streets of Fair Oak and Hedge End to raise money to ensure that children across the world have the same chance to acquire education and skills as they do. We wish them every success.
